This striking poster was issued to promote the sale of United States Liberty Bonds in 1918. The artist Walter Whitehead produced one of the more chilling poster images of The Great War as a grim faced American doughboy advances with determination and fixed bayonet over the body of a fallen German soldier.
This vintage original poster has been professionally conservation mounted to linen. A small bit of staining on the left side near the upper corner was mitigated during the linen backing process and a tear on the left side expertly repaired. The poster displays nicely and overall condition is very good.
