This is an original 1931 letter from the Universal Film Exchanges, Inc. featuring advertising for the groundbreaking and highly influential 1931 pre-Code Universal science fiction horror film Frankenstein. Universal Film Exchanges, Inc. was a distribution arm of Carl Laemmle’s Universal Pictures during the Golden Age of Hollywood when larger movie studios were vertically integrated and controlled both production and distribution of movies through the so-called Hollywood Studio System.
This letter is a single sheet dated November 23, 1931 from A.J. Herman relating to a banking matter for the company. This letterhead is nicely illustrated at the bottom with advertising for the movie and text that reads The man who made a monster FRANKENSTEIN.
This illustrated letterhead is a vintage original sent out from Universal Film Exchanges, Inc. affiliate of Universal Pictures in 1931. This is the neatly folded letterhead only without envelope.
