This vintage original pictorial map showing the principal events in the life of George Washington was issued as an advertising and promotional item by the Standard Oil Company of New Jersey on the occasion of the bicentennial of Washington’s birth in 1932. This is a folding map with the cover panel titled: 

MAP of the Principal Events in the life of GEORGE WASHINGTON contributed to the Bicentennial Celebration of his birth by the Standard Oil Company of New Jersey

The map folds open to reveal a large pictorial map covering the entirety of one side titled PRINCIPAL EVENTS in the life of GEORGE WASHINGTON in those States that lie between the Hudson and Savannah.  The other side features three smaller pictorial maps titled MOUNT VERNON MEMORIAL HIGHWAY showing many of the neighboring buildings associated with the life of George Washington, Landmarks of George Washington’s Life in Philadelphia and vicinity and Shrines of George Washington in and around the city of New York along with the cover panels and a section titled “Additional Washingtoniana”.  

All pictorial maps of compiled by and copyrighted by the General Drafting Company, Inc. of New York.  This beautiful and elaborate pictorial map is a vintage original issued in 1932 in conjunction with the national celebrations of the 200th anniversary of George Washington’s birth that occured that year.  This map is folded as issued and looks pretty well unused with just light handling wear and modest toning from age.  Overall condition is excellent.
