This vintage original and colorful poster created by Witold Chomicz promotes The Cracow Pageant held June 3 to June 24, 1939. Chomicz renders an image of a vibrant procession of figures in traditional costume set against the backdrop of a stylized castle. Chomicz was born in Ukraine and immigrated to Poland with his family at a young age where he went on to study art at The Academy of Fine Arts in Warsaw. Chomicz produced at least one other poster for The Cracow Pageant in 1937. This poster was printed in Poland by Drukarnia Naradowa w Krakowie and issued by the Polish State Railways and the League for Promotion of Tourism, the official Polish state tourism authority.

This poster has been professionally conservation mounted to linen with some expert touchup as needed including repair to a couple small notches off the left edge and the few small tears without paper loss on the edges. The colors retain their original vibrancy and overall condition is very good. A photo of this poster prior to linen backing is available on request.
