This is vintage original cardboard advertising standee sign advertising a promotion run by the makers of Wings Cigarettes in connection with the old time NBC radio show Wings of Destiny.

This promotion involved the company giving away a Piper Cub airplane every week with the winner revealed on the Wings of Destiny weekly radio show on the NBC radio network. This Wings of Destiny program ran from 1940 until 1942 so we would date this sign to that time period. The sign also makes reference to the cigarette cards featuring airplanes given away by the company with the purchase of a packet of Wings Cigarettes.

This sign is printed one side only on cardboard and measures about 30” x 20”. The sign original had an easel arm on the back that could be extended to prop up the sign but this easel arm is no longer present. The sign shows moderate wear including a few scuffs and bumped edges and corners. The sign still displays well and overall condition is very good for this vintage original.
