This vintage original WWII poster was issued by the Office of War Information as OWI Poster No. 22 in 1942. This poster is one of several issued in the United States during WWII which sought to recruit nurses. The shortage of nurses became so acute during WWII that Congress acted to establish the U.S. Cadet Nurse Corps which eventually graduated more than 14,000 student nurses.
This vintage original poster was issued folded and shows light handling wear and and slight toning from age. The poster has about an inch of separation on the upper and middle lateral fold lines on the right edge each of which have been stabilzed with a small piece of tape applied to verso. The colors are strong and overall condition is very good.
