This vintage original and rare WWII poster was issued in 1943 to help recruit construction workers for service in the Navy Seabees and the U.S. Army Engineers. This poster features the image of a construction worker’s hardhat, a steel girder being hoisted by a crane and what looks like the steel framework of a building being constructed along with an American flag. Text on the poster reads:
CONSTRUCTION WORKERS! Now You Can Volunteer For Service With The Army Or Navy – Men 18-38 By Voluntary Induction (For Army Or Navy) Men 17 or 38 to 50 By Voluntary Enlistment (Men Of 17 For Navy Only) – Work And Fight With The Navy Seabees Army Engineers
The lower right corner indicates a 1943 printing date at the unknow artist’s initials “M.R.” appear in the image. This vintage original poster was probably never used and has no tape or pinholes. The poster has a small notch off the margin on the tip of the lower left corner and another small shallow notch off the margin on the top edge. The poster is otherwise in very good condition with just light handling wear including edges lightly bumped in spots.
