This vintage original poster was created by the illustrator Jack Betts and issued by the Veterans of Foreign Wars to remind Americans on the homefront to be wary of Axis propaganda during WWII.  For this poster Betts renders an image of a befuddled man in bowler hat with caricatures of Axis leaders Hitler and Tojo whispering into each ear.  In a message still pertinent today with respect to bad actors and our geopolitical rivals pushing disinformation on social media the poster’s text reads:

Don’t Fall For Enemy Propaganda – Against Our Government, Against Our Allies, Against Catholics, Jews or Protestants – Remember Hitler and the Japs are trying to get us fighting among ourselves – Veterans of Foreign Wars of the United States

The lower right edge indicates “Illustrated by Jack Betts” and a printing trade union emblem is printed on the lower left corner.   This vintage original poster is folded as issued and shows light handling wear, some toning from age and a couple pinholes on each corner. The original owner underlined the words “Remember Hitler” at the bottom of the poster with a single pencil line and also wrote the name “Tojo” below the caricature of Tojo on the upper right side which was erased by still shows lightly.   The original colors are retained and overall condition is very good.
