This vintage original WWII era poster featuring the artwork noted Belgian American illustrator Georges Schreiber was issued in 1943 to promote the sale of war bonds. A scrambling American fighter pilot looks resolutely to the sky as he prepares to step into his aircraft the side of which is festooned with the victory markings celebrating his kills and signaling this is not his first rodeo. The tag line Keep Him Flying! adds emphasis to the poster’s plea BUY WAR BONDS.
This poster is folded as issued and shows some modest toning from age and moderate handling wear. The poster has some bumping on the edges and a couple small nicks in the margins on the edges. A few small pieces of acid free paper archival tissue have been applied on verso to reinforce small areas of separation on the fold lines. The colors are strong, the poster displays very nicely and overall condition is very good for this vintage original.
