This poster was created by the Swiss born American graphic designer Herbert Matter for the National Foundation for Infantile Paralysis, Inc. and issued originally in 1950. This is the officially licensed high quality reprint of this poster issued by the Toppan Printing Company of Japan in 1994 as part of a portfolio of posters titled The 100 best posters from Europe and the United States / 1945-1990. Matter was highly regarded for his pioneering use of photomontage in graphic design and this poster is a very fine example of his work. Originals of this poster are virtually impossible to obtain.
This poster has a blind stamp from the Toppan Printing Company in the upper right corner. This poster is free of tape or pinholes and is unused and in very good condition with only slight handling wear, a minor spot on the lower left edge and very slight buckling to the paper along the left edge. Overall condition is very good.
