This vintage original Italian travel poster was issued by the official municipal tourism authority of Venice in 1950. This poster’s pleasing Mid-Century design features a stylized view of the historic Piazza San Marco, the principal public square of Venice, with the words Veniza and Lido appearing over a blue sea with sailboats. The lower margin indicates is poster was printed by F. Garzia of Venezia with the date shown as 26 Aprile 1950.
This poster has been professionally backed to linen with minimal expert touchup. A small darker spot of about a square inch appears in the dark blue of the sea a few inches below the red sailboat. This striking poster retains the original colors and displays beautifully. Overall condition is very good for this vintage original.
