This lovely poster was created by Rowland Hilder for the British Travel and Holidays Association with the title Country Houses In Britain. The lower margin is printed “Published By The British Travel And Holidays Association, And Printed In Great Britain By James Upton Ltd, London And Birmingham 54/51/14”. This colorful poster features a watercolor rendering of a stately Georgian style Country House in the English countryside. The versatile Hilder produced several beautiful British travel posters as well as advertising posters for Imperial Airways, the Shell Oil Company and other clients. Hilder also illustrated books for the Oxford University Press.
This poster is a vintage original which was never hung and in excellent, very clean condition.
