This is a vintage original travel poster promoting France as a travel destination was created by the artist Jean Colin and issued by the French National Railways in 1954. For this poster Colin renders a stylized image of Paris's Eiffel Tower to which are added flowers in the blue, white and red colors of the French flag and a butterfly. Text at the bottom reads Discover France By Train and French National Railroads. Colin’s name appears signed in print on the left side of the image area. The lower left edge indicates the date 1954 and identifies the printer as R.C. Seine.
This vintage original poster has been professionally backed to linen with some small touch ups as needed including expert repair to a few short tears and small abrasions on the edges. The colors retain their original vibrancy and the poster displays beautifully. Overall condition is very good.
