This is a vintage original one sheet poster for the 1958 first American release of the science fiction horror classic Attack of the 50 Foot Woman.  This film was directed by Nathan H. Juran (credited as Nathan Hertz) and starred Allison Hayes, William Hudson and Yvette Vickers among others. The film was produced by Bernard Woolner with a screenplay written by Mark Hanna and an original musical score composed by Ronald Stein. The artwork for the poster was done by the prolific Reynold Brown who created many of the most famous science fiction movie posters of the 1950s.

Attack of the 50 Foot Woman was made on a budget of about $80,000 and first released by Allied Artists as a double feature with War of the Satellites on May 18, 1958.  The film was a solid box office success in 1958 but had a much larger impact on popular culture and endures yet today as a beloved cult classic.

Reynold Brown’s poster for the film is considered one of the greatest and most widely recognized of the 1950s science fiction genre.  The film has inspired countless pop culture references and even a few remakes and attempted remakes. The Hollywood entertainment magazine Variety reports that another remake is in development now with Tim Burton directing and Margot Robbie set to star as the 50 Foot Woman Nancy Harper.

This poster was issued folded and has been professionally linen backed with some minor touch up as needed.   A couple small pieces of tape were removed from the back of the poster prior to linen backing and two small stains visible on the lower left corner were mitigated during the linen backing process and still show lightly.  The poster had no loss of paper, no pinholes and no tears or other serious defects. Interested buyers are welcome to contact us for photos of the poster prior to linen backing. Overall condition is very good for this vintage original from the film's 1958 first American release.
