This poster was created by the noted graphic designer Malcolm Grear to advertise the coming Tall Ships Newport ’76 event. Tall Ships from all around the world converged at Newport, Rhode Island for an event organized to coincide with the national United States Bicentennial celebrations of 1976. The poster uses the logo for the event designed by John Benson and is printed “Tall Ships Newport ’76 is presented by The American Sail Training Association and The Sail Training Association” along the bottom edge and “Malcolm Grear Designers” on the right edge. This vintage original poster from the 1976 event looks unused and is in excellent condition with bold color and only light handling wear.
