This is a vintage original poster for the hugely successful 1978 traveling exhibition POMPEII A.D. 79.  This exhibition was organized by the Museum of Fine Arts Boston and sponsored by Xerox Corporation and The National Federation of Humanities and featured over 300 artifacts from Pompeii and Herculaneum.  This exhibition appeared in four major America museum between April 1978 and July 1979 including the Museum of Fine Arts Boston, The Art Institute of Chicago, Dallas Museum of Fine Arts and American Museum of Natural History New York.  The poster features an image of the Aphrodite and Priapus statue loaned by the Naples Museum and the lower margin indicates this poster was designed by Karl Zahn.  

This vintage original poster is free of tape or pinholes and looks pretty well unused with just light handling wear.  Overall condition is excellent.
