This is a vintage original c.1920s Del Monte Asparagus advertising cardboard trolley car sign style poster.  This sign is printed one side only on lightwreight cardboard and was designed to be installed as overhead advertising signage in streetcars and trolley cars.  This sign is nicely illustrated with tins of Del Monte Asparagus Long Spears and Tips and a large platter of asparagus with text that reads: 

For asparagus at its best – be sure you say DEL MONTE Cut at the moment of perfection – canned with all its natural delicacy and flavor – TIPS in Small Cans – LONG SPEARS in large cans 

The artist’s name is signed in print as “Nelier” who also did covers for the Standard Oil Bulletin magazine in the 1920s but is otherwise largely unknown.    This vintage original trolly car sign shows moderate handling wear, some slight toning from age and slight loss and rounding to the corners.  The colors remain strong and overall condition is very good.
