This poster by the Belgian artist Louis Royon was issued in the 1920s to advertise trans-Atlantic travel via the SS Lapland. This ship was launched in 1908 and had a couple different owners before being scrapped in 1934. This poster isn’t dated by was printed in Belgium by E. Stockman’s & Co. of Anvers so would have been made when the Red Star Line owned the SS Lapland prior to transferring ownership to the British Leyland Line in 1927. The SS Lapland had a notable history including being the ship used to transport surviving crew members of the RMS Titanic back to England following the loss of that ship.
This vintage original poster doesn’t appear to have ever been used and has just light handling wear. Overall condition is very good for this vintage original.
