This vintage original British political poster was likely issued for the 1924 General Election. The poster shows the image of a world globe with dominions of the British Empire highlighted in orange above a large orange shield with text that reads FOR EMPIRE VOTE UNIONIST. The lower margin is printed “Published by the National Unionist Association, Palace Chambers, Bridge St., Westminster, S.W.I. – Printed By Hancock, Corfield & Waller, Ltd. Mitcham – Cartoon No. 1010”.

The National Unionist Association referred to on this poster was a precursor of the modern Conservative Party in the United Kingdom. The Liberal Unionist party merged into the Conservative Party in 1912 and adopted the National Union of Conservative and Unionist Associations name in 1924 which is sometimes referred to simply as the National Unionist Association.

This vintage original poster shows moderate handling wear and was folded at one time. The poster shows some creasing on the edges in places and has a couple short tears on the edges including a tear of about two inches on the left edge but without any loss of paper. There is a small three inch piece of acid free paper archival tissue affixed to the back of the poster and small remnant of paper sticker also on the back of the poster near the upper right hand corner.  Overall condition is very good for this early and rare British Conservative Party political campaign poster.
