This vintage original poster was created by the artist Josep Morell Marcias and issued by the Spanish State Tourism Department. Josep Morell Marcias, who signed his work “Morell” and is often referred to as Jose Morell, designed several travel posters for his native Spain in the 1930s and 1940s. For this poster Morell renders a colorful view of a woman in red dress carrying a large green terracotta water jug in each hand. The lower margin indicates the poster was printed in Madrid by Altamira, S.A.. Also in the lower margin is document code “12.919-5-230”. This poster isn’t dated but was probably issued in the late 1930s.

This vintage original poster shows light handling wear including slight creasing in the image area and a small nick of about 1/8” in depth in the bottom edge. The colors are strong and overall condition is very good.
