This colorful Modernist style poster was issued by the Mexican tourism authority to promote travel to Mexico City, the Great Metropolis. A bird’s eye view of traffic swirling along the Paseo de la Reforma fades into lights of the great city extending toward a distant mountain horizon aptly conveying the immensity of the world’s second largest city. This poster isn’t dated but was issued most likely in the late 1940s. The artist’s name A. Regaert appears in the upper left hand corner of the image.
This poster has been professionally backed to linen. A short tear of a couple inches has been expertly repaired at the top center and the minor touch up applied as needed. This vintage original poster has bright vibrant colors and displays beautifully.
