This vintage original WWII era poster was issued by the Gulf Oil Company to help advertise the company’s Gulflex branded motor oil lubricants.  This poster features an image of two soldiers in an Army tent with one soldier reading a letter from home to the other who smiles knowingly.   Text on the poster bracketing the image reads She sounds mighty sweet, Pal – Your car will too, with Gulflex Lubrication.  The lower margin is printed “Form SP2228 – To Be Posted March 1st to 15th – ALL DIVISIONS”.

This poster isn’t dated but appears to be late WWII era and was probably issued around 1945 or shortly thereafter. This poster is free of tape or pinholes but has a small notch off the lower margin not affecting the image area.  This could be fixed easily with basic linen backing and the poster is otherwise in very good condition overall with light handling wear and some bumping along the lower left edge.  The colors are strong and overall condition is very good for this vintage original.
