This vintage original poster was issued by Braniff International Airways to promote Rio de Janeiro as a travel destination. A toucan bird with colorful bill flashes an inviting smile while perching jauntily on the letter O in Rio. This poster was issued in a few variations and this one featuring the black propeller airliner flying right through the R in Rio is the earlier version. On later versions a white jet airliner flying above the word Rio replaces the older prop aircraft.
This vintage original poster has been professionally linen backed and a tack hole on each corner has been expertly repaired. The poster had moderate handling wear including a scuffs, light scraps and slight smudges in places and moderate toning from age. Overall condition is very good.
