This vintage original poster is one of several that Donald Brun created for Swissair, the national flag carrier airline of Switzerland. For this poster Brun renders a charming Mid-Century image of storks in a nest perched atop the clocktower of an Alpine Swiss village with a Douglas DC-6 airliner passing by overhead. Brun’s name is signed in print on the lower left corner and just above the printer is indicated as Wasserman A.G. Basel. This poster isn’t dated but the DC-6 entered service with Swissair in 1951 and this poster was likely issued shortly after in the early 1950s.
This vintage original poster has been professionally backed to linen with some expert touchup as needed including repair to a short tear without paper loss on the top edge and repair to some short tears and small abrasions on the lower left edge. The colors retain their original sharpness and the poster displays very well. Overall condition is very good. Interested buyers can contact us for a photo of the poster prior to linen backing.
