This colorful vintage original poster was issued by Pan American World Airways to promote Japan as a travel destination. Women of the traditional Geisha style wear colorful kimonos and give an inviting smile above the poster’s tagline JAPAN VIA PAN AM – World’s Most Experienced Airline. This hard to find poster isn’t dated but the charming Mid-Century style likely dates it to the late 1950s or early 1960s.

This poster has been professionally linen backed and a couple short tears without paper loss on the edges have been expertly repaired. A closed tear of about three inches without paper loss near the upper right hand corner has been skillfully repaired. The poster retains lush original colors and displays beautifully. Overall condition is very good.
