This hard to find poster was issued by American Airlines to promote the company’s primary hub Dallas, Texas as a travel destination. A colorful montage of images associated with the region are contained in the shape of a large cowboy boot including a football player, a cowboy on horseback and an oil derrick. A lady in stylish clothing and a ballerina symbolize the city’s national reputation as a center for fashion and cultural arts. A large flower forms the spur on the cowboy boot to keep the poster contemporary to the late 1960s “Flower Power” era.
This vintage original poster is a very tough one to find. The unrestored poster has a pinhole on each corner and light handling wear with edges a bit bumped in places. There are a couple small spots on the poster and slight toning from age. Overall condition is very good. e
