This is a double sided vintage original c.1970s Junior Wells record store promotional poster issued by Delmark Records of Chicago. This poster features the same photographic image of Bluesman Junior Wells playing his harmonica on both sides with the image reversed on one side of the poster. The Delmark Records logo and address appear in the lower left hand corner of the poster on both sides. Junior Wells debut album Hoodoo Blues Man was released in the Delmark label in 1965.
We don’t find a date on this poster and the poster’s image doesn’t seem to match the cover artwork for any Junior Wells albums of which we are aware. Delmark Records moved to the 4243 North Lincoln Avenue address in Chicago shown on this poster in 1971 so the poster couldn’t be older than 1971 and was probably issued in the early to mid 1970s.
This vintage original poster is printed on heavy coated paper and shows moderate handling wear and slight creasing in places including one light lateral crease at the center. The corners are slightly bumped. The poster has no tape, pinholes or paper loss and displays very nicely. Overall condition is very good.
