This magnificent poster was created by the artist Charles Livingston Bull in 1918 for the United States Treasury Department in support of their War Savings Stamps campaign. A supersized majestic American Bald Eagle dominates the image as he lords over a swarm of fighter aircraft flying past. Bull’s study of taxidermy in his youth influenced his work as an illustrator. This poster is a great example of the elegant depictions of wildlife found throughout his work as an illustrator.
This vintage original poster has a crease to the upper left hand corner, modest toning from age and light handling wear including a couple short quarter inch tears on the edges without loss. The poster displays beautifully with rich color and dramatic effect. Overall condition is very good.
