This vintage original c.1950 French travel poster features a large photographic image of lively Basque dancers with a credit just below to French photographer Gaston Karquel. The dancers are shown whirling around in traditional dress with the pandeiro or Basque tambourine. The title Danseurs Au Pays Basque printed in the lower right corner of the image area. The left margin indicates this is an official poster printed in France and issued by the French government. The right margin indicates the printer as “E. Desfosses-Neogravure – Paris”.
This vintage original poster is free of tape or pinholes and shows modest toning from age and moderate handling wear including some bumping to the edges in places and slight creasing to the upper and lower corners on the right side. Overall condition is very good.
