This rare vintage original United States Forest Service poster was issued during WWII.  The poster features the stylized image of a man chopping down a tree with a large axe bracketed by the title CUT WOOD FOR FUEL – RELEASE TRANSPORTATION FOR WAR.   Text at the bottom of the image reads Use Dead, Diseased, Crooked, And Low Branching Trees.  The lower margin shows the GPO print date of 1942 and the United States Department of Agriculture Forest Service logo appears on the lower right corner of the poster.

This is a rare poster as we trace none at auction and a WorldCat search locates only two copies.   This vintage original poster looks pretty well unused with no tape or pinholes and only the slightest evidence of handling.   The poster is folded as issued.  Overall condition is excellent.
