This original WWII era poster featuring the artwork and design of Vic Guinnell was issued by the United States Treasury Department in 1944 to promote the sale of war bonds. It is hard to find a more patriotic image than this one of a muscular soldier, biceps bulging through ragged battle torn shirt sleeves, literally wrapping himself in Old Glory above the poster’s tagline “To Have And To Hold”. The words WAR BONDS appear in block capitals at the bottom of the poster. This poster is a vintage original issued in 1944.
This poster is folded as issued and doesn’t look like it was ever used with no tape or pinholes and just a brief notation on verso. This poster is in excellent almost “like new” condition.
