This vintage original and striking poster was created by the artist Pierre Baudouin and issued by Air France to promote Paris as a travel destination. For this poster Baudouin renders a brilliant view from above of the Arc de Triomphe and the Place de l'Étoile brightly illuminated at the intersection of the 12 boulevards, including the Champs-Élysées, that form the beating heart of the City of Lights. This poster was first issued by Air France in 1947 and then reissued a couple times in the late 1950s and early 1960s. The lower margin of this poster is printed “169 P-11-63” indicating this is the 1963 edition of this poster.
This vintage original poster has been professionally linen backed with minor touch as needed including repairs to a couple shorts tears without loss of paper on the edges. The colors retain their original vibrancy and the poster displays beautifully. Overall condition is very good.
