This elaborate pictorial cartoon map of Edinburgh, Scotland was created by British illustrator Kerry Lee and issued in 1947 by The Travel Association of Great Britain and Northern Ireland and the Scottish Tourist Board. Kerry Ernest Lee established a company called Pictorial Maps Ltd in London shortly after the end of WWII and created similar elaborate pictorial maps of several cities and towns in the United Kingdom during the mid to late 1940s. As with several other maps by this artist, Kerry Lee includes a small drawing of himself and his dog Jim next to his signature on the right side of the image.

This vintage original and rare pictorial map poster has been professionally linen backed. The poster was printed on coated paper which shows crazing or what looks like small creasing in the image which has been skillfully mitigated during the linen backing process. There was some creasing toward the bottom of the poster and a small bit of paper loss replaced in the lower margin. The poster shows some toning from age on the margins and the colors remain strong and sharp. Overall condition is very good.
