This is a lot of two vintage original 1950 classroom teaching aid hygiene type posters issued by the National Tuberculosis Association.  Both posters measure 15” x 11” and have “Suggestions to the Teacher” printed on the back of the poster.  These two posters have hygiene messages “Be Sure to wash your Hands” and “For Vim and Vigor go to Bed Early”.   The Suggestions to the Teacher printed on the back of each poster indicates there were four posters in this series including posters titled “Good Food Helps Keep You Fit” and “We Cover Coughs and Sneezes”.  The National Tuberculosis Association was founded in 1904 and changed names to The American Lung Association in 1973.

Both posters have the National Tuberculosis Society “Cross of Lorraine” logo and both indicate NTA and have the date 5-50 printed on the lower right corner.   The Vim and Vigor poster is free of tape or pinholes and shows moderate handling wear and some toning from age.  The Wash Your Hands poster shows moderate handling wear, two tack holes at the bottom center and a small stain from a single piece of tape which dried up and fell off a long time ago on each of the upper corners. This poster also has a small bit of paper loss to the tip of the upper left corner and a couple small spots near the lower left corner.
