This vintage original poster was issued by United Airlines in 1972 to help promote Hawaii as a travel destination. This poster features an image of Hilo Hattie strumming a ukelele by a Hawaiian waterfall. Hilo Hattie, born Clarissa Haili in 1901, was a Hawaiian singer, hula dancer, actress and comedienne of Native Hawaiian ancestry who had a long and successful career in the entertainment business. She had a recurring role on the 1970s hit television series Hawaii Five-O and appeared in the 1961 Elvis Pressley movie Blue Hawaii among other things.
This vintage original poster is free or tape or pinholes and shows light handling wear and some slight bumping along the upper left edge. Overall condition is very good.
