This is a vintage original poster for the 1998 Posters American Style exhibit at the Smithsonian’s National Museum of American Art in Washington D.C. designed by noted American graphic designer Ivan Chermayeff whose name is signed in print on the right side of the poster. This exhibition ran from March 27 to August 9, 1998 and was described as a survey of 20th century American posters. Artists represented in the exihibition included Will Bradley, Ben Shahn, Robert Rauschenberg, Georgia O’Keeffe, Wes Wilson, Norman Rockwell and Victor Moscoso among others.
This is a vintage original poster issued to advertise and promote the 1998 exhibition. This poster is free or tape or pinholes and shows light handling wear including slight creasing in the image area and edges lightly bumped in places. Overall condition is very good.
