This vintage original and rare poster promoting Jamaica as a travel destination was issued by the Jamaican Tourist Board in the early 1970s .  This poster features a closeup image of a woman’s face with text that reads Her ancestors were African, German, Welsh, Indian, French and Costa Rica. She's pure Jamaican.  

This poster was part of the hugely successful “Out of Many, One People” Jamaican tourism advertising campaign highlighting the Caribbean island’s diverse multi-ethnic heritage conceptualized by the renowned American advertising agency Doyle Dane Bernbach in the early 1970s.   The woman in the poster may possibly be the Trinidadian model Sintra Bronte who appears on the iconic “wet t-shirt” Jamaican travel poster that first appeared in 1974.   

This vintage original poster has no tape or pinholes and was probably never hung up or used. The poster shows light to moderate handling wear including a short tear of about a half inch without paper loss on the left edge near the upper corner.  The poster has a light crease to the upper right corner, slight creases and edges lightly bumped in places.  Overall condition is very good for this vintage original.
