This vintage original Cuban anti-war poster was created by the artist Lazaro Abreu and issued by OSPAAAL (The Organization of Solidarity with the People of Asia, Africa and Latin America). OSPAAAL was founded in Havana at the 1966 Tricontinental Conference in Cuba with the stated purpose of promoting the causes of socialism and communism in the Third World.
For this poster Abreu depicts Richard Nixon holding a Nazi flag and sitting on a B-52 bomber flying over a map of Vietnam as bombs fall all over the war torn county. The poster’s title Nixon’s Peace is printed in Spanish, French and Arabic language along with English so the poster could be used internationally. This vintage original poster was issued folded and shows light handling wear. The poster is free of tape and pinholes and overall condition is very good.
