This vintage original and rare WWII poster was created by the artist Robert Nichol and issued by the Wartime Information Board of Canada. For this poster, a fine example of the Anti-Axis genre, Nichol depicts a hapless Adolf Hitler run up by a tree by a large beaver. The beaver, long a symbol of Canada, works on bringing the tree down as beavers do, Hitler and all, with text that reads Get Your Teeth Into The JOB. Nichol’s name appears in print at the bottom of the image.
This is the rare full size version of this poster which is almost impossible to find. We trace no examples of this full size version at auction. This poster is folded as issued and looks unused with no tape or pinholes and only slight handling wear. The colors are robust and overall condition is excellent.
