This colorful and rare vintage original official New Zealand travel poster features beautiful artwork and the words “HAERE MAI” which mean “welcome” in the Maori language. The artist is unknown but the poster is a vintage original which The Library of Congress dates to the 1920s so thus the date. This is an official government poster with the lower margin printed “By Authority W.A.G. Skinner, Government Printer, Wellington.” This hard to find poster rarely comes to market and has been professionally linen backed and restored as needed to return it as close as possible to the original visually stunning condition.
