This vintage original WWII poster is one in a series issued by Abbott Laboratories in conjunction with the United States Treasury Schools-At-War Program. This poster features the rousing and celebratory image of an American soldier being hoisted onto the shoulders of a factory worker, an African American and others with the title Speed the Day with WAR BONDS. The back of the poster has a small text box with information on the poster’s artist Joseph Hirsch who had been embedded as a war correspondent and artist with American forces in the Pacific.
