This is a vintage original menu from the Venus Room at The Frontier Hotel in Las Vegas with Mid-Century Modernist cover artwork design by Saul Bass. Stapled inside is a special menu titled:
World Premiere Night Club Performance of Miss Judy Garland
Judy Garland made her Las Vegas debut at the Venus Run where she was booked as the feature entertainment for a four week run that began July 16, 1956. Garland was paid $55,000 per week making her the highest paid entertainer ever in Las Vegas at the time the New Frontier Hotel show was such a great success that the booking was extended an additional week. This menu features a colorful Space Age design titled “Out Of This World” with “Designed By Saul Bass” printed in the lower left hand corner.
This menu is a vintage original from Judy Garland’s 1956 Las Vegas debut engagement. The menu is fully complete and intact with light handling wear and about a half inch of separation between the covers at the top of the spine. Overall condition is very good.
