This is a vintage original one sheet poster for the 1976 first American release of Martin Scorsese’s neo-noir psychological drama masterpiece Taxi Driver.   This movie starred Robert DeNiro as the film’s antihero protagonist Travis Bickle and Jodi Foster as the 12-year old prostitute Iris Steensma, both of whom earned Oscar nominations for their performances.   Taxi Driver was nominated for Best Picture at the 1977 Academy Awards, won the Palme d’Or at the Cannes Film Festival that year and is widely recognized as one of the greatest films ever made and a profound influence on the cinematic arts. 

This poster was designed by Belgian artist Guy Peelaert who also designed album covers for David Bowie's Diamond Dogs and The Rolling Stones album It's Only Rock 'n Roll.      

This one sheet poster was issued folded and has been professionally conservation mounted to linen.  The colors are sharp and the poster is in excellent almost “like new” condition.
