This vintage original safety poster was issued by the National Safety Council in the mid 1920s.   The lower margin has the National Safety Council logo and the upper right corner is printed “No. 1598-C”.  The name of the artist “Holt” is signed in printed in the lower left of the image.   

This poster features the image of a large hand holding a balance scale.  A one tray of the scale a worker, his wife and family appear to be having family fun time together.  In the other tray of the scale the worker is gone and the worker’s grief stricken wife and young son are consoled by a woman.  Text on the bottom of the poster conveys the simple message Safety – or Sorrow.       

This poster is a vintage original folded as issued and looks unused with no tape or pinholes and only light handling wear and modest toning from age.  Overall condition is very good.
