This vintage original poster was issued as an advertising piece by Western Airlines in the 1970s.   This poster features a stylized image inspired by the famous WWII era pinup girl photo of Hollywood actress Betty Grable taken by Frank Powolny in 1943.  Powolny was the head photographer for the 20th Century Fox movie studio and his 1943 portrait of Betty Grable and her “million dollar legs” was massively popular with American soldiers serving overseas and remains familiar today as an iconic image of the WWII era.  Text above the image, The Western Air Force Wants You!, suggests this poster may have been used to recruit employees rather than passengers.  Text at the bottom of the poster reads WESTERN AIRLINES The New Force In The Sky and the artist’s name Gomez appears signed in print on the right side of the image area.

This vintage original poster is free or tape or pinholes and looks pretty well unused with just light handling wear.  Overall condition is very good.
