This vintage original WWII poster was created by Minnesota born artist John Atherton and issued in 1943 to help promote the sale of war bonds. Atherton depicts the famous Minute Man statue of Concord, New Hampshire and what looks like a New England church and townhall to underscore the poster’s appeal – For Freedom’s Sake Buy War Bonds. The New England imagery is important as it invokes the birthplace of American democracy and the freedom it enables.
This vintage original lightly used poster is folded as issued. The poster shows pinholes each corner and light handling wear. This poster is otherwise in very good condition with no tape, paper loss or staining. Overall condition is very good.
