This vintage original WWII poster was created by the artist Irving Nurick issued jointly by the United States Treasury and the Office of Education to promote the "Schools at War" program in 1942. Schools at War was a hugely successful program that raised billions of dollars in the sale of war bonds and war savings stamps and also organized scrap drives and activities that allowed school age kids to support the war effort. This poster was issued in 1942 and is one of the first WWII posters connected to the Schools at War program.
This vintage original poster shows moderate handling wear and slight toning from age. Two small narrow pieces of tape were applied on the left edge and another small narrow piece of tape has been applied on the right edge. Both upper right and upper left corners have three small pinholes and there is a bit of what looks like silverfish activity at the intersection of the middle fold lines on the back of the poster which show as a couple tiny holes on the front of the poster. The colors remain vibrant, the poster is folded as issued and overall condition is very good.
