This beautiful vintage original poster featuring the Adirondack Mountains and Lake Placid region of New York State was created by the artist Walter L. Greene (1870-1956) for the New York Central Railroad and issued around 1930. For this poster Greene renders an image of the magnificent scenery of the Adirondak region including a mountain lake, rugged highlands and a large stag standing sentinel over it all in the foreground. Walter L. Greene was the Art Director for General Electric between 1903 and 1940 and also provided artwork for the New York Central Railroad beginning in the mid 1920s. The lower right margin indicates this poster was printed by Latham Litho. & Ptg Co. of Long Island City, New York.
This vintage original poster has been professionally conservation mounted to linen with some expert touch up as needed including repair to a tear of several inches without paper loss on the top edge. The fold lines show lightly after the linen backing and the colors retain their original vibrancy. This poster displays beautifully and overall condition is very good. Interested buyers are welcome to contact us for photos of this poster prior to the linen backing.
