This vintage original Swissair c.1950s travel poster features a design created during WWII by the Swiss artist Daniele Buzzi for her hometown of Locarno on Lake Maggiore in the Italian speaking canton of Ticino. A bird’s eye view perspective provides a splendid glimpse of this lovely jewel of a town known for its sunny climate. Advertising for Swissair overprinted on the poster reads Fly SWISSAIR you’ll enjoy it.  The lower margin indicates “Printed In Switzerland” and “LITHOS R. MARSENS LAUSANNE”. 

This vintage original poster has been professionally linen backed with some touch up as needed including expert repair to some short tears, nicks and shallow abrasions on the edges most evident near the lower corners.  The poster shows some creasing and small wrinkles in the image area.  A short tear of about three inches at the bottom center has been expertly repaired during the linen backing process.  The original bold colors are retained and the poster displays very nicely.  Interested buyers can contact us for a photo of the poster prior to linen backing.
