This vintage original travel poster was issued by the official government tourism authority of India in February 1957. For this poster the artist renders a colorful montage image of Indian landmarks including the Taj Mahal of Agra, Qutb Minar in Delhi and the Great Stupa at Sanchi.

Text printed at the bottom of the poster indicates poster was an English language edition of 15,000 issued February 1957.  Also printed at the bottom is text that reads “Produced by the Directorate of Advertising & Visual Publicity, Ministry of Information & Broadcasting, Government of India for the Ministry of Transport. Printed by M/s. Bombay Fine Art Offset & Litho Works, Bombay, 27. Published by and for the Government of India. Printed in India.”

This vintage original poster is free of tape or pinholes and looks pretty unused with just light handling wear and a small tear without paper loss of about an inch on the right side near the upper corner.   The colors retain their original boldness and the poster displays beautifully.  Overall condition is excellent.
